Pomenia is not just a storybook or a story.

When I start designing a new design, the first thing I think about is what is fashionable right now, or what colors and patterns are favored around the world. I think about the story, the emotion I want the product or product line to tell.
For example, the fabrics I designed, where that magic can be seen, are proof that impossible dreams are possible – and closer to our hearts than we think.
Every fairy tale character, landscape, line, tone and detail is part of a larger whole – part of the magical world I have created, which breathes and lives in everything I do.
In this “job” – or rather a calling – it is not just a matter of technical expertise, even though every brushstroke, line, detail and choice of color has been carefully considered.
Basically, it’s about how to recall moments when anything was possible – to awaken dreams that you haven’t even dared to think about yet.

Original art
The storyboards are original works by fairy tale artist Petronella Grahn (b. 1970-), which combine storytelling and visual enchantment. The glitters used as an effect bring a magical glow to the paintings, bringing the world of the fairy tale to life. Grahn's art utilizes a variety of techniques, such as watercolors, charcoal, ink, and acrylic, giving each piece its own unique feel. Storyboards are usually framed, emphasizing their finished and timelessly captivating look.
Murals
Pomenia's murals reflect Petronella Grahn's artistic vision and tell stories from a fairytale world. Each mural-painted space is a unique entity that invites the viewer to join in on a magical adventure. Since 2001, Petronella has created these enchanting works in different parts of Finland, starting with the Vekkuli daycare centre in Kotka and continuing to numerous public spaces and private homes. Ceramics and fairy-tale figures
Each ceramic figure has its own story – full of details, expressive characters, and fairytale-like magic. The hand-shaped and painted figures bring warmth and playfulness to their surroundings, bringing fairy tales to life anywhere as well as in art collections. Many of the characters are familiar from the enchanting illustrations of Pomenia storybooks and colourful murals around Finland.
